Hi Katay, Found this design rather by coincidence while looking for inspiration for a steampunk based tattoo (upperarm / half-sleeve). It is fantastic!! I was wondering if I could use it as a reference? If you're okay with that? Also: I'd love to see how it looks on your twins arm? Did he actually get it tattooed?
I soo love this, my older bro asked me to draw something similar to this for his arm, I'd love to be able to use this as a reference but change the type of flowers flowers and a few tweaks to make it more Celtic like. Would it be alright if it's just used as a reference for my brother's tatt? You'd be the most awesome person ever!
I'm sorry but I did this design for my twin brother, and I don't feel very comfortable handing out originals. But if you really want it for inspiration on your own tattoo you can print this image out with the watermark and show that to your tattoo artist for ideas. Cheers.
tht looks awesome and the detail is fantastic !!! i was wondering if i could use your artwork for a tattoo ?? i've been looking for something like this for awhile now, and i think it wouild look amazing down the full length of my spine :3
Well I designed this piece for my twin brother, which he has on his arm now. We both would prefer that people not copy this design straight as it is, however using it as inspiration for a new design, or altering the original in some way to distinguish it apart from the original we both agree is okay. And some credit towards the original is appriciated if you choose to ink a new version of it onto your skin.
Because getting a new tattoo and telling guys and gals "Oh yeah it was totally my whole idea and design concept" is not very cool.
sorry, yeah tht's what i meant to say; to use the design concept but add my twist into it. i'd honestly feel bad if i copied it exactly, so tht's why i asked for your permission, instead of jst using it. i hope this is alright ??
i've shown people your design and told them tht you drew it for your brother, and then have showed them what i would change so it would suit me. so yes, i have indeed given you credit for this amazing art. (:
I have not just yet, it has been suggested to me by a few people, so it may be something I would do in the future.
And I know there are several sites out there that actually host tattoo designers similar to dA. They usual have it so that either an artist can present there work and wait for customers, or customers can pitch the tattoo design they want and any artist can draw a draft and suggest a price. That might be one way to go about it, online.
i don't know, online auctioning our work isn't really an option, when literally anyone can download our work, no matter how watermarked they are and simply tracing over them, is a sad sad sight.
I think i might have to stop uploading tattoo designs if i want to make money out of them. Ive asked another guy on here about this line of work, and he said i should try printing all my designs on flashcards, then selling these to parlors, but im still confused on the pricing, anything over 20 pounds was his advice. But given the amount of work we put into a single drawing, i think at least each deserves something between 50 and 100....
Next year im going to try getting some work in a couple of parlors, see if they teach me anything if i work for free? Tattooing definitely has money to it, now that tattoos are popular and all.
