This has been circling around in e-mails for a while, but I found it worthy enough of a journal post. Enjoy!

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed until today I read his obituary.

Obituary - Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by five stepbrothers; Me First, Who Cares, I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Zzzzzz....

I'm back from Fiji! Twas fun and hot and I hopped around bare-foot everywhere cause I love not wearing shoes.

I just got home an hour ago, very tired. Long flight which was delayed by 2 hours. I'll check messages tomorrow.

First thing I do when got home was go on the internet and check Ian Jay's TEO webcomic [link]
And I spazzed because it's getting exciting.

I feel droizy from exhausten and I've probably made some spelling mistakes and grammical errors in this journal. Too tired to check for spelling. I got sunburnt on the back of the neck. Not fun.

I"m just gunna flob into bed now, its calling me with its promises of warmth and comfort. Feels good to be back home in Australia, how I miss thee.....

EDIT- 2/12/07: Lol!! Man, I sound drugged in this thing!

This time it's not on hiatus, but to Fiji. It's to celebrate the end of 13 years of public education! WOO! *dances*

A couple of days ago my year had their formal. Twas fun! I was the only girl not in a dress!

It's been a hectic couple of weeks, I've been forced to shop for clothes and other neccessities for both formal and Fiji. Almost ready!

So I'll be on the plane tomorrow, and will be landing back in Sydney on the 1st of December.

And when I get back I want to do so many things... like say.... DRAW SOMETHING!! I need to crawl back into that habit, baby steps.
I'm very eager to draw the things I mentioned in the last journal, like TEO and Cain and Unable. I also want to reread all of TavalyaRa's and Maruki's fanfiction, and get back into drawing fanart.

And so I fair thee ado, those who are so kind to watch me. *bows to thee* Adios!

Guess who?

Sorry I've been away for 11 weeks, I'm trying to work hard on aceing the final HSC exam, which will be coming in a month and a bit.

Again sorry for not being around and sorry for not telling you guys sooner.

I'll be avoiding the internet again and I'm not sure when exactly I'll be back. Right now I've just got to focus.

Once again, sorry.

Now have fun and stay fresh!
